Madrid- The Southeast Valley 8th grade boys lost 36-23 to Madrid. The Jags got off to a slow start and trailed 18-6 after one quarter of action. Going into the half time break the Jags trailed 26-12, but continued to play hard. At halftime we talked about adjusting to their 2-3 zone defense and making sure we got back on defense to prevent easy baskets. It was 32-19 at the end of the third quarter. The final score ended at 36-23. After the first quarter it was an evenly played ball game, the guys adjusted well and kept playing with intensity on both ends of the floor. Scoring for the Jaguars: Josiah Hefley (2), August Akins (14), Brock Norine (2), and Parker Bintz (5). Also contributing for the Jaguars: Max Judson, Ethan Martin, Mason Newell, Chris Andrews, Carter Lloyd, and Brodie LaVine. After Thanksgiving Break the Jaguars will be back in action on December 2nd at Newell-Fonda.
