Rockwell City- The Southeast Valley 8th grade boys won 43-34 over South Central Calhoun. The Jags took the first quarter lead of 15-8 and never looked back. The Jags took a 10-point lead at 23-13 into the halftime break. We had a couple guys in foul trouble so we talked about playing with our hands high in the second half. We also needed to clean up some missed opportunities in the paint and control the glass. We needed to continue to break their press and turn it into offense. The Jags increased the lead in the third quarter to 33-21. The Jags were able to hang on in the final quarter to take the 43-34 victory. Scoring for the Jaguars: Ethan Martin (5), Josiah Hefley (2), Colton Bachel (2), August Akins (11), Brock Norine (3), and Parker Bintz (20). Also contributing for the Jaguars: Chris Andrews, Jake Wicklein, Carter Lloyd, and Brodie LaVine. The Jags are back in action on January 7th against Pocahontas in Burnside.
