Burnside- The Southeast Valley 8th grade boys won 39-30 over South Central Calhoun in their season finale. The Jags got off to a bit of a slow start, but were able to grab a 7-6 lead after the first quarter. The Jaguars got the offense rolling in the second quarter and grabbed a 26-14 lead heading into the halftime break. We wanted to keep pushing the ball down the floor, but needed to stay in control. Rebounding is alway a key to our success and we needed to do a better job at both ends to be successful. The Jags maintained the lead for the third quarter and were up 33-24 going into the final quarter of the game and season. In the end the Jaguars were able to secure a 39-30 homecourt victory. Scoring for the Jaguars: Ethan Tucker (9), Josiah Hefley (4), Colton Bachel (2), August Akins (13), and Parker Bintz (11). Also contributing for the Jaguars: Max Judson, Tucker Ollinger, Mason Newell, Chris Andrews, Colden Mapel, Jake Wicklein, Carter Lloyd,Brock Norine, Asher Loeffler, Brodie LaVine, and Shelton DeVries. Injured: Blaine Peterson. Managers Jonny Trueblood-Snider and Enman Bird. 

I want to thank the players, managers, families, fans, coaches, and administration for their continued support of Jaguar Basketball! It has been a fun opportunity to coach this great group of athletes. With continued work the future of Jaguar Basketball looks promising.
