Eagle Grove- Southeast Valley's 8th Grade JH Boys Basketball team started the season on the road and played a closely contested game against Eagle Grove. Unfortunately the Eagles came away with a 32-30 victory over the Jaguars. The Jags trailed 11-8 after one quarter of action. The Jags were able to gain an advantage in the second quarter and take a narrow 16-15 lead into the halftime break. At half we made some adjustments to their full court press and talked about execution on the offensive end of the floor, and to keep up the pressure on defense. The game was all tied up at 24 after three quarters of play. After the Eagles went up by a basket the Jags had one final chance, but were unable to convert and lost a heartbreaker 32-30. Scoring for the Jaguars include: Tucker Ollinger (9) Ethan Martin (5), Mason Newell (2), August Akins (6), and Parker Bintz (8). Also contributing for the Jaguars include: Max Judson, Chris Andrews, Colden Mapel, Josiah Hefley, Colton Bachel, Carter Lloyd, Brock Norine, Asher Loeffler, Brodie LaVine, and Shelton DeVries. Jags are back in action against Madrid on November 26 in Madrid.
