8th Grade Baseball Falter on the Road

The 8th Grade baseball team let one slip away, falling by the final score of 6-7 on the road in Manson versus the Cougars of Manson Northwest Webster on Friday, June 7th,

After the conclusion of the first inning, the Jaguars held a slight lead entering the 2nd inning of play with a 2-1 run lead. But in the bottom of the 2nd, the Jaguars allowed 5 runs scored by the Cougar bats, and trailed 6-2 after the third inning of play. Down 7-3, the Jaguars scored 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning to make it a score of 6-7 and had two baserunners on the corners, but could not get an opportunistic basehit to keep the rally going before the game was called on a time limit.

Colton Haug recorded the only hit for the Jaguars, connecting for a hard hit ball to the outfield and a double in the scorebook, driving in two runs and making it a game of it late in the last inning of play. Others scoring for the Jags were Landon Vote, Conner Rentz, Dawson Tuel, Jake Patterson, Haug, and Carver Peterson. Dawson Tuel and Caden Milham pitched for the Jaguars, with Haug as their batterymate.
