The SV 7th grade Jaguars battled their way to a tough fought 42-24 home victory against the Ogden Bulldogs on Tuesday, December 3rd. The Jaguars jumped out to a 14-4 1st quarter lead which was powered by Reece Carlson’s two three pointers and secured by a strong defensive effort by all. Coach Steinhoff highlighted the ability to be patient on offense against the zone of the Bulldogs and capitalize on the scoring opportunities when they were presented; knocking down free throws also helped hold the Jaguars lead. The second half was a physical battle and a quiet offensive half for both teams and the Jaguars were able to hold on to the first half lead they had built. The Jaguar contributors in the scorebook were Reece Carlson (12), Wyatt Muench (8), Tristan Hanson (6), Griffin Vote (9), Bennett Nolte (5), and Nick Vogel (2). Turner Ahlers, Grant Ott, Bentley Jondle, Brock Peterson, Corbin Eslick, Jace Skoglund, Jaxson Johnson, Joseph Ennenga, and Nolan Albright all saw action as well during the contest. The Jaguars will host MNW on Monday December 9th and Eagle Grove on Tuesday December 10th at Burnside beginning at 4:15.
