Jag Baseball 6-14 South Hamilton 1-5 L (4-8)

The final game of the week saw the Jaguars traveling to Jewel to face the Hawks from South Hamilton. Once again was one inning where the Hawks scored five runs which hurt the Jags chances. Starter Hane Sorenson pitched well going 5 1/3 innings, the second inning being the inning where all the runs scored. Again timely hits by the opponent scored the runners. There were three hits that inning and only two hits outside that inning, the rest of the game. Junior Cale Vansickle finished the game throwing really well, surrendering only a double which happened with two outs. The bats had their moments but to many strikeouts doomed the Jags to one run. Couple of hits came from Casey Hanson, Mason Bahr and Logan Jaeschke. Caden Kaltschnee would score the only run of the game off the bat of Casey Hanson after he reached on an error. It was a tough game where that one inning continues to haunt the Jags in these close games. They will be looking to get back in the win column as Newell Fonda comes into Dayton for a conference match up.

JV action 9-0 W (8-3-1)

The Jv team got back into the win column with a decisive 9-0 win. Karson Roper took the

mound and threw well. Karson went all four innings, giving up three hits and no runs. Karson’s defense came to play as he struck out one batter each inning and the defense doing the rest. The walks were bountiful with eleven total walks. Three hits were all the Jags needed though coming from Ayden Bintz who scored a runner off his single. Lenix Allbee would hit a sac fly. Pitcher Karson Roper would also add a hit for the team to round out the hits. Nice win for the JV squad as they finish the week.
