6/27 @ Pocahontas 8-9 L (4-13)

Non-conference action kicked off the final regular season week for the Jaguars as they

traveled to Pocahontas. The Indians would ten run rule the jags last time they played but the

Jaguars showed a lot of heart competing with them into extra innings until the Indians got their big hit they needed to secure the win. The Jaguars would actually out hit the Indians but some free bases and passed balls would allow them to score unearned runs. The player of the game for the Jags would definitely be Justin Loseke. The senior had a terrific night opening the scoring with a first inning bomb over the left field fence. Justin would also have a terrific appearance on the mound. Loseke went eight innings with only five earned runs and three strikeouts. Part of why he could go eight innings is because he relied on his defense to help him. The Jaguar defense played really well, only allowing an error and making the plays they could make. On the night Loseke would finish 3 for 5 just a triple shy of the cycle while driving in two runs. Tyler Jondle continued his hit streak with a single which ended up scoring two big at the time runs. Kaden Holder also made the most of his hit, scoring a runner on the hit. 8th grader Casey Hanson had his first varsity start and appearance and performed very well. Making a lot of snags at first base and coming away with a hit up the middle which would also score a runner, even though he had one hit, he ended up hitting the ball hard every at bat. Although it was a tough loss there was a lot of positives moving forward as the Jags have three more games this week and finish up the week with district play as they travel to Garner to take on Clarion Goldfield in a win or go home district tournament.

JV ACTION: 1-8 L (9-6-3

It was slow going for the Jv team as they faced a good pitcher and only mustered one

run on a double from Ethan Ackerson. Too many strikeouts would plague the Jags and with only two hits, the other coming off the bat of Caden Kaltschnee, it just wasn’t in the cards. Lenix Allbee took the mound for the Jags and threw a decent game. A few walks hurt him in the end and a few defensive miscues really hurt but the sophomore threw well but just not enough to get a win for the JV team.
