6/3 vs. Manson NW Webster (conf.) 6-2 (2-5) (1-1 conference)

Win two for the Jags ended up being win 200 for Head Coach Brad Anderson this past Friday night. With the cougars playing really good baseball the Jags capitalized on a few errors on errant throw on a pick off scored Kolson Kruse from second then a perfectly laid squeeze bunt by senior Caden Larson allowed Kolson to score again and Justin Loseke scored on the throwing error which sailed past the first baseman. Jared Cloud had a huge single scoring Zack Miller as well and Lucas Jondle scored the final run for the Jags as Kruse hit a shot to center giving him a sac fly. Sophomore Hane Sorenson showed what he is capable of by having a heck of a game on the mound for the Jags. The defense came to play as well only giving up two errors but much improved defense. Hane only threw 87 pitches and allowed four hits and the best stat only one walk, ten strikeouts definitely helped too! Congrats again to Coach Anderson for hitting his 200th win!

JV action: 6-5 L (0-6-1)

The Jags were looking for their first win but the last inning plagued the Jags as pitcher Carl Berglund was getting tired on the mound and the cougars rallied with four straight walks to take the lead and the win. Game that probably should have ended in a win was slowly going away. Jags played well enough to win but just wasn’t enough in the end. Couple of pass balls and walks helped the offense but Elias Field, Kaden Holder, Maverick Dorman and Brady Hanson all had hits for the Jags.
