6-20 @ Iowa Falls - Alden 4-6 L (5-10)
It was a great start to the mid-week game against the Cadets from Iowa Falls but the finish
wasn't what the Jags wanted as Iowa Falls stormed back to win with two runs in the 6th inning. The Jags had some hard hits right at guys but the cadets made the plays. Tyler Jondle, Hane Sorenson, Mason Bahr, Brady Hanson, Cale Vansickle, and Logan Jaeschke all added a hit most of them coming in the first inning as the Jags scored four runs. Gauge Jones was the standout hitter with two singles on the day scoring a runner on his first hit of the day. The Jags used three pitchers in the contest. Kaden Holder started the game, Jaxon Meyer and Lenix Allbee relieved. The pitchers once again didn't help their cause hitting three batters, walking eight but the defense didn't help much with four errors. Kaden Holder threw decent but got high in pitch count and a few walks brought in Meyer. Lenix would relieve in the 6th and throw three pitches as a liner to Jondle at second would get the Jags out of the bases loaded jam. Tough loss for the Jaguars as they will regroup and go take on South Central Calhoun to finish the week.
JV ACTION 6-7 L ( 8-4-1)
A strong five run inning pulled the Jags within one run after being down 1-7 going into the
last inning. Unfortunately the five run rule kicked in and they weren't able to complete the comeback. Ayden Bintz got things running with a single. Evan would hit the ball hard
advancing Ayden and beating out the throw. A couple of walks and passed balls then a big hit from Jaxon Meyer scored a runner and a passed ball would end the game after the fifth run would cross. Ryan Stewart would start for the jv team going his one inning. Lincoln Akins came in and threw well keeping the cadets off balance but ran into trouble late as Evan bintz came in to finish off the inning. The JV squad will much like the varsity look to get into the win column tomorrow against SCC.
