7-3 Coon Rapids 1-7 L (8-13)
The always tough Raiders of Coon Rapids were the Jaguars last regular season
opponent of the year. Gauge Jones would take the mound and threw well going to his pitch limit of sixty five total pitches so he is eligible to pitch Saturday. Gauge would throw three innings allowing two hits one of them a home run which was the only earned run he allowed. Karson Roper and Lenix Allbee would relieve Gauge. Walks became an issue for the young staff giving up fourteen total walks in the game and too many for a good team like Coon Rapids. Jaxon Meyer would finish the game getting the final two batters out of the game. Logan Jaeschke and Tyler Jondle would get the hits for the Jaguars. Both hits were singles which didn’t score any runners but Brady Hanson would score the lone run on a walk in the fifth inning. One of his two walks in the game. Another tough opponent with good pitchers but the Jags will need to get their bats going as they enter post season play this Saturday vs. South Central Calhoun at Pocahontas starting at 5pm. Come out and watch the Jaguars as they start their post season!
JV ACTION: 0-3 L (11-5-1)
A well played JV game ended on the wrong side for the Jaguars JV squad. A pitchers
duo for sure, as the Jaguars send Caden Kaltschnee, Lincoln Akins, Kolton Ollinger, Evan Bintz and Ayden Bintz to the mound to cap their pitching for the season. The carousel of pitchers made the most of their inning on the mound allowing the three runs in the fifth inning but keeping the Raiders from touching home until then. The Jags had one hit in the contest by Sophomore Colin Johnson who finishes with a three game hit streak. An unfortunate end to a solid season for the JV team but they did a lot of great things this season. The future is bright if the JV team can continue to improve and take some of that to the varsity next year the Jaguar Baseball program will be improving each year. Solid season which should be applauded by Jaguar fans!
