7-1 Eagle Grove 3-9 L (8-12)

The Eagles from Eagle Grove traveled to Dayton to take on the Jags. The Eagles would

jump off to a four run lead but the Jags came back with three runs of their own to make it a

close game. Senior Hane Sorenson would pitch five innings keeping it close. The senior

celebrating senior night, threw well against a decent team and left it all on the field for his last home pitching performance of the season. It was three runs in the sixth inning which sealed the win for the Eagles after bringing in their ace to finish the last two innings. Cale Vansickle would throw the last two innings for the Jaguars allowing four earned runs but striking out four batters as well. The Jags had two hits both coming from the freshmen duo of Karson Roper and Mason Bahr. The duo both had singles against tough pitching. Casey Hanson, Cale Vansickle and Colin Johnson would score the three runs on the night for the Jaguars. It was a tough game, considering both teams were throwing their aces. A trend the Jaguars seem to face each team’s best pitchers. The Jags will take on Coon Rapids Wednesday before the break for the fourth of July.

Ethan Tucker, Evan Bintz, and Kolton Ollinger would around out the hits with Evan’s hit scoring Ethan after a walk and Colin Johnson would score Ollinger to reach the three run rule. The JV team will look for one more win against Coon Rapids the last regular season game of the baseball season.
