6-17 Newell Fonda 1-11 L (4-9) (4-4 Conference)
Mustangs from Newell Fonda were the first conference matchup of the week for the Jaguars. The Jags saw the Mustangs ace but it was the extra the Jags gave the Mustangs on the defensive side of things that made the score lopsided. The Jags just gave them too many free bases with eight hit batters and four walked batters against a good team is never a recipe for winning. However the Jags did have some bright spots on the offensive end. Casey Hanson had two hits going 2 for 2 with a walk and was the lone run for the Jaguars offense. The Jags got a things going in the fifth inning with two outs but couldn’t get the big hit when they needed it. Tyler Jondle and Hane Sorenson would both end up with hits. While Gauge Jones continues his hot streak going 2 for 3, with two singles and scoring Casey in the fifth inning. Pitching for the Jaguars was Lenix Allbee and the freshmen duo of Karson Roper and Jaxon Meyer both came in and threw admirably. Just a bit too many walks and hit batters hurt the Jags pitching staff in the end but the solution is known now they just have to cut down on hit batters and walks.
JV action 6-4 W (9-3-1)
In JV action the Jags took a bit to get going but would secure a 6-4 W after being down three runs after the first half inning. Casey Hanson took the mound for the Jags and threw decent. A few early walks compounded and the Mustangs would score three early runs. Caden Kaltschnee came in after Casey reached his pitch limit. Caden threw well getting groundballs which the defense coverted to outs. Caden and Casey only got into trouble when they allowed walks which came back to bite each pitcher but they did just enough as the bats would help out as well. Caden Kaltschnee and Evan Bintz were the two big hits of the evening both hits scored runners and coupled with a lot of walks and passed balls the Jags were able to get the JV win one more will push them over the double digit win column a feat which hasn’t happened in a while for the JV squads.
