SVSB vs. PAC 6/24/2024
Southeast Valley’s record went to 14-6 on Monday night after a non-conference match-up with the Indians from Pocahontas Area. The Jags fell to the Indians by a score of 6-0 after seven complete innings of play.
The Indians took full advantage of defensive miscues made by Southeast Valley, scoring six runs on four hits, only two of which were earned. The Jags have to have a short memory and clean up the defense in order to keep adding to the win column and they look to do just that against Greene County on Tuesday night.
Offensively, the Jaguars saw a lot of great hits, but unfortunately no runs were produced as the Jags left eight runners on the bases on the night. Junior Chloe Lambert led all hitters in the box getting two hits in four plate appearances. Lambert shot a double to right side in the first inning and dropped in a single in centerfield in the bottom of the seventh. Jordyn Rowley, Camryn Lane, and Rian Schlief each singled in the game as well. The offense looks to make adjustments and bounce back quickly against the Rams from Green County on Tuesday.
Despite getting the loss in the circle, Chloe Lambert threw a great game and Rian Schlief executed perfectly in keeping the Indian bats off balance. Lambert faced 27 batters on the night and struck out four while walking just four batters and allowing just three hits and one earned run. Schlief faced 13 batters and only allowed one hit, one walk, and one earned run in her appearance.
