The junior high girls played their last game of 2023 in Burnside on Monday night against the visiting Indians from Pocahontas Area. 

The seventh grade team kick started the night with a great team win over Poky by a score of 14-9. The girls were able to capitalize on Indian foul trouble and managed to sink the ball in key moments. The Jag offense was able to outscore their opponent, but the key to their victory was great team defense by all the girls! 

The eighth grade score was a lopsided event in favor of the Indians by a score of 17-39. The Jags's slow start to the game found them in too deep. Despite the number on the scoreboard, the girls played their hearts and worked hard to make a comeback in the fourth quarter. Their effort and attitude in the fourth quarter is a testament to their mindset and work ethic throughout this season. 

The girls will return to the hard wood on January 8th against the Cougars from Manson Northwest Webster in Barnum.
