JH GBB 12/11 - 12/12
The junior high girls basketball team had back to back games this week. On Monday, the Jags hosted the Hawks from Woodward Granger. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams would fall to the Hawks; 7th grade by a score of 4-29 and 8th grade fell 22-43. Both teams fought through some adversity coming off of a weekend break and jumping into a game right away on Monday, but they came up just short.
Tuesday, however, would be a different story with Southeast Valley traveling to Rockwell City to take on the South Central Calhoun Titans. After two impressive showings on the night by the Jaguars, Southeast Valley walked away with two wins. In the 7th grade game, the girls ran a five in, five out system and were able to keep playing without skipping a beat. The offense was hot and the defensive was tough. The seventh graders were able to see nearly everybody score a bucket in the 33-17 win over the Titans. The 8th grade game was a similar story with everybody seeing the floor and contributing to the score. The girls played team defense and everybody was able to contribute to the win by a score of 45-0.
The Jags have one more contest before the holiday break against Pocahontas Area next Monday.
