JH Girls @ SCC
On January 16th, the SEV junior high girls basketball teams traveled to Rockwell City to face the SCC Titans. The 7th grade team kicked off the night with a tough, but yet very much improved effort against the Titans as they fell 27-17. The Jags were led in scoring by Kelsey Hays with 6 points. Tana Harrison and Aubrey Richardson each had 4 points, while Kaylee Hicks chipped in with 3.
In the 8th grade contest, the Jags prevailed with a 26-17 win. The Jags were led in scoring by Farrah Tuel's 13 points. Jaylon Zika added 11 and Karley Rae Smith contributed 2 points to the win. Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, "I felt we finished the year strongly. 7th grade put up a heck of a fight against the Titans but just ran out of gas. The 8th graders took control in the 3rd quarter and didn't look back. It was a great win to end their season. I know the coaches are really proud of the girls on the team. We would like to thank the players and their parents for the season." The 7th grade finished with a record of 3-8, while the 8th grade ended their season at 5-7. Thank you Jags.
