JH Girls vs Paton-Churdan

On January 14th, the 8th grade junior high girls basketball team hosted the Rockets of Paton-Churdan. The Jags put up a tough fight in a very physical game and came up on the short end 23-19. The Jags trailed by 6 at half and found themselves down by 8 going into the 4th quarter. The Jags stepped up their pressure and cut the lead to 1 with under a minute left to go. The Rockets hit some clutch free throws to cinch the win. The Jags were led in scoring by Farrah Tuel's 7 points. Jaylon Zika and Bella Smith each had 4, while Goldie Davis and Bella Dorsey each chipped in 2 points. Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, "This was a tough loss tonight. The girls had such a huge win the night before we just came out flat and missed a lot of shots.  We play great defense and we play physical but we just didn't have it for the four quarters tonight. I am proud of the girls and their effort . They are a group that never gives up and that is something that as a coaching staff we appreciate." The Jags will finish their season on the road against SCC on Thursday, January 16th.
