JH Girls Basketball @ Woodward-Granger
On Monday, December 16th, the Southeast Valley Junior High Girls Basketball teams traveled to Woodward to face off against the Hawks of Woodward-Granger. The 8th grade started the night first with a tough 17-8 loss. The Jags trailed by 10 at half but battled their way back to just come up short in the end. The Jags were led in scoring by Goldie Davis and Karley Rae Smith who each had 3 points. Bella Dorsey added two of her own for the Jags.
The 7th grader Jags ran into a Woodward-Granger buzz saw and went down to a very talented Hawks team 44-6. The Jags were led in scoring by Tana Harrison, Aubree Richardson and Aleah Hoeffer who each contributed 2 for the Jags cause. Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, "I am proud of the effort the girls give every night even though we are against tough competition. Woodward-Granger is a good team that plays year round. I am hopeful we can do the same here at Southeast Valley." The Jags will next be in action on Tuesday, December 17th, when the Titans from SCC come to town for an early Christmas showdown.
