SV Boys Track @ Humboldt Indoor Meet

The Southeast Valley boys’ track & filed team took an almost full squad to Humboldt for the last indoor track meet of the 2025 season last Friday, March 21st. The Jaguars who had competed earlier this year looked to improve times, while those who hadn’t got a chance to see where they are early in the season.

              The top finish for the SV Jags was the 4 x 200m relay team of Kayden Showers, Logan Jaeschke, Bryce Harrison and Dreyvon Steadman whose time of 1:38.35 was strong enough for 1st place. The relay quartet of Alex Burger, Casey Hanson, Kolton Ollinger and Colin Johnson took 2nd place in the shuttle hurdle relay. Their time of 39.48 was good enough for 2nd overall and 3rd on the all-time top-ten list.

              Alex Burger and Colin Johnson also picked up some individual 2nd place finishes as well. Alex claimed second in both the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.60 and the 200m dash in a time of 25.35. Colin’s 2nd place finish was in the 400m dash with a time of 57.46. Kolton Ollinger found himself moving up to 6th in the all-time 60m rankings with his 3rd place finish with a time of 9.71; a season’s best.

              Fourth place finishes on Friday went to the 1600m medley team of Logan Jaeschke, Bryce Harrison, Owen Nuss and Ethan Tucker running a time of 4:09.93 and Lincoln Akins was 4th in the 1600m run in a time of 5:14.02. 

              Dreyvon Steadman picked up a 5th place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.53 and Colin, Kayden, Dreyvon and Bryce ran a 3:58.31 in the 4 x 400m relay. 

              Some season PRs were also set on Friday night. In the shot put, Ian Brunner and Kyle Eastman through season best of 40’ 10” and 27’ 8” respectively. Ian’s throw moved him into the top-ten all-time rankings at 10th. In the 800m run, Caden Kaltschnee edged teammate Grant Farnham at the finish as both improved their season’s times to 2:41.99 and 2:42.34 respectively.

              The Jaguars will have two weeks before they start the outdoor season on April 4th in Story City and then traveling to Jefferson on Friday, April 11th.
