SV Boys' Golf at Rams Invitational

V Boys Golf April 13th @ Ram Invitational.

SV Golf competed in the Inaugural Ram Invitational on Saturday, April 13th; having the opportunity to play in an 18 hole meet versus a total of seven local teams.

The 18 hole event was divided up and played on two nine-hole courses. The Jaguars started out golfing at Jefferson Community, and the second nine holes at The Hill golf course, just west of Grand Junction.

The Jaguars finished 5th out of 7 teams, with a score of 363.

Team results: Roland-Story 333, Greene Co. 342, Coon-Rapids 342, Grand View Christian 355, SV 363, Ogden 373, SCC 374.

Individual scores: Will Comp 86, Karson Roper 89, Hane Sorenson 92, Hayden Butrick 96, Rafe Kilstrom 111, Hayden Greene 113.

Coach Dahlstrom commented, “This opportunity was well worth it. I think as a program, this will be an invite we as SV would love to be a part of going forward.”

“We didn’t play our best, but we didn’t play our worst. After playing two completely new courses to everyone on the roster; and battling the high winds we did alright. We were missing a couple of Varsity guys due to schedule conflicts.”

“More and more teams are playing in 18 hole competitions, which are such a huge advantage towards the end of the season. I feel our team felt that; the difference between a 9 hole round and an 18 hole round. Mentally and physically.”
