Jaguar Boys Golf Close Out Successful Season
The Jaguars competed in Sectionals on Wednesday, May 8 th , competing in an 18-hole
event played at Carroll National. The Jaguars shot a team score of 358, finishing 5 th place out of eight 2A schools.
Team scores are as follows: Kuemper Catholic 299, Cherokee 335, Ridge View 342,
Manson Northwest Webster 355, Southeast Valley 358, South Central Calhoun 359, Adair Casey Guthrie Center 366, and Pocahontas Area 407.
Karson Roper led the Jags at 87, wrapping up an outstanding first year of Varsity golf.
Will Comp and Hayden Butrick both carded 90 on the Par 70 golf course. Hane Sorenson
rounded out the team scoring with a 91. Drew Temple shot 98 and Hayden Greene with a 102. Coach Dahlstrom commented “we had a great day to play a great course. The rain as of late altered some course rules, and teams took advantage with some pretty low scores. The competition was strong. It’s been a great season. It flew by as usual but the season was a very enjoyable one.”
On the season, the Varsity core finished 11-8 on the year, and 7-4 in conference match-
ups either contested in TLC Duals or Quads. The 358-team score shot at Sectionals was a
season low after three 18-hole tournaments throughout the Spring. The Varsity team averaged 176 on the season. Will Comp, Hane Sorenson, Drew Temple, and Karson Roper all earned at least one individual medal throughout the short season. Comp earned several meet medalist honors. Coach Dahlstrom added, “We want to thank the three seniors for their support and leadership this past season, as well as their commitment and dedication the last three to four years. They are great young men and I look forward to seeing them succeed after graduation.”
The three seniors are Hane Sorenson, Kaden Holder, and Spencer Suchan.
