JH Softball June 12 - June 27
6/12 Pocahontas
The Jaguars headed North to Pocahontas on June 12th. In the first game the Jags had a hard fight but came up short losing 10-17. Farrah Tuel and Addison Lundquist had a combined 5 strikeouts. Scoring for the Jags were Farrah Tuel, Jaylon Zika, Quinn Sorenson, Charlotte Blair, Landalin Nowell, Goldie Davis, and Jocelyn Wheeling.
In game two, the Jags had a hot start scoring 4 in the first inning but due to weather our game was called off.
6/13 @Harcourt vs Newell Fonda
In game one against the Newell Fonda Mustangs the Jags had a hard time getting the bats woken up. The Jags lost 20-7. In game two, the Jags came alive and were ready to play ball. With an intense game the Jags came out on top, winning 3-2. Scoring in the close game was Kinsley Nolte, Karley Smith and Farrah Tuel. A big shout out in the game was Peyton Lockner who got an amazing bunt down to put runners in scoring position who later scored. Karley Smith had 9 strikeouts on the day with a stellar defense behind her.
6/17 @Harcourt vs Manson Northwest Webster
The Jaguars hosted the Cougars of Manson Northwest Webster on June 17th at home. Due to limited numbers for the Cougars the Jags played one 5 inning game and came out on top winning 17-9. This was an amazing opportunity for players to try different positions and allow themselves to get out of their comfort zone.
6/21 @Harcourt vs SCC
The Jaguars took on the Titans of South Central Calhoun on June 21st. In game one the Jags came out with a win, winning 20-11. It was a great day with all 9 batters scoring in the game. This game showed the true meaning of team work with everyone executing in the game.
In game two, the Jags came out on top and held the Titans to 0 runs. The final score was 18-0. Recording 8 strikeouts for the Jags was Karley Smith. Scoring for the Jags was Kinsley Nolte, Peyton Lockner, Sage Lane, Goldie Davis, Addison Lundquist, Karley Smith, and Farrah Tuel.
6/25 @ Fort Dodge
Taking on the Dodgers of Fort Dodge Senior High the Jags lost a battle 0-10. Although this score doesn’t reflect the hard work and battle the Jags put up against the Dodgers. In game two the Jags had runners in scoring position but could not put a hit together to score. The Jags lost game two 0-7 but that score does not show the growth and determination these girls had during the game.
6/27 @Harcourt vs Pocahontas
In game one against the Indians of Pocahontas Area the Jags fell short losing 13-14 in an exciting game. Scoring for the Jags was Farrah Tuel, Molly Vansickle, Quinn Sorenson, Bella Smith, Charlotte Blair, Goldie Davis, and Landalin Newell.
In game two the Jags came up short losing 2-8. With a hard fight the two who scored were Sage Lane and Taylor Goeders. The Jags will finish their season next week playing Greene County Monday, July 1st and Eagle Grove Tuesday, July 2nd.
