Jaguar Jr. High Softball May 30 - June 10

5/30 @Fonda 

The Southeast Valley Junior High Softball teams traveled to Fonda, home of the Mustangs, on Thursday, May 30th. In the first game, the Jaguars came up short on the day. There were a lot of learning opportunities and takeaways from this game that we can improve on this season. 

In the second game, the Jaguars lost a close battle to the Mustangs losing 4-6. The Jags came out hot and bats were fired up but couldn’t keep the fire going and fell short. 


6/5 @Lytton vs SCC

The Southeast Valley Junior High Softball teams traveled to Lytton, home of the Titans, on Wednesday June 5th. The Jags took a dominant win, beating the Titans 14-6. Farrah Tuel pitched one inning for the Jags with Addison Lundquist finishing out the game for the Jags. Together they had a combined 5 strikeouts. 

Scoring for the Jags were Jaylon Zika, Bella Smith, Molly Vansickle, Goldie Davis, Farrah Tuel, Charlotte Blair, and Quinn Sorenson. 

In game two the Jags kept the foot on the gas succuring a 19-0 victory. Pitching for the Jags was Karley Smith throwing a well game with 11 strikeouts on the day. Defensively, the Jags had no errors and played well together. 

Scoring in game two was Kinsley Nolte, Peyton Lockner, Sage Lane, Goldie Davis, Addison Lundquist, Karley Smith, Jacey Carlson, and Farrah Tuel. 



6/6 Madrid

On June 6th the Jags traveled to Madrid, home of the Tigers. In the 8th Grade game, the Jaguars beat the Tigers of Madrid 6-1. The Jags were consistent, getting at least one run in each inning. Pitching for the Jags was Karley Smith who struck out 11 batters. Scoring for the Jags were Kinsley Nolte, Goldie Davis, Karley Smith, and Farrah Tuel. 

In the 7th Grade game, the Jags lost 6-13. Pitching in the game was Farrah Tuel throwing 2 innings and Addison Lundquist throwing 1 inning. Scoring for the Jags included, Bella Smith, Molly Vansickle, Goldie Davis, Farrah Tuel, and Charlotte Blair. 


6/7 Manson

To finish out the week (6/7), the Jags traveled North to Manson to face the Cougars of Manson Northwest Webster. In game one, the jags fell short losing 8-10. Pitching in the game was Farrah Tuel throwing 2 innings and Addison Lundquist throwing 2 innings. Scoring for the Jags were Molly Vansickle, Goldie Davis, Farrah Tuel, Quinn Sorenson, Jocelyn Wheeling, Taitym Clark and Landalin Nowell.

In game two, the Jags came out hot and had a well deserved 10-1 victory. Pitching for the Jags was Karley Smith who had a total of 6 strikeouts. Scoring for the Jags were Kinsley Nolte, Peyton Lockner, Goldie Davis, Karley Smith, Jacey Carlson, and Chloe Richardson.

It is quite amazing watching these girls grow. They are seeing the ball very well and playing as a team which is what softball is all about. 



6/10 Harcourt

The Jaguars finally had their first home game of the season on Monday, June 10th taking on the Bulldogs from Ogden. In the first game the Jaguars lost 5-18. The bats were looking well in the first inning with the Jags scoring 5 right away but after the bats went cold we struggled putting runners in scoring position. Scoring for the Jags were Jaylon Zika, Bella Smith, Molly Vansickle, Goldie Davis, and Farrah Tuel. 

In game two, the Jags won 15-6 against the Bulldogs. Our bats came alive and we were seeing the ball very well. Kinsley Nolte had an amazing day at the plate with two triples. Karley Smith pitched for the Jags and had a combined total of 4 strikeouts. Scoring in the dominating game was Kinsley Nolte, Peyton Lockner, Sage Lane, Goldie Davis, Karley Smith, Jacey Carlson, Chloe Richardson, and Farrah Tuel. 

The Jaguars will play next on June 12 against Pochohontas at Pocahontas game one starting at 10 a.m.
