Gilbert Duals

On Saturday, December 2nd, the wrestling squad traveled to Gilbert to participate in the Gilbert Duals. The competition stiffened up as the young Jags got a taste of solid Varsity competition as the boys struggled to compete from solid competition from SE Polk JV, Gilbert, Iowa Falls-Alden, and Eagle Grove. The Jags dropped four duals: 78-6 to SE Polk, 54-24 to Gilbert, 60-12 to Iowa Falls-Alden, and 48-18 to Eagle Grove. 

Senior 157 lbs. Grant Smith led the way going 4-0 for the day, Sr. 144 lbs. Kaden Holder finished 2-2; sophomore 126 lbs. Colin Johnson, Freshman 132 lbs. Nevein Larson, Freshman 165 lbs. Kyle Eastman and Freshman 175. lbs. finished 1-3. Freshman 138 lbs. Owen Pudenz and sophomore 150 lbs. Oliver Riehl finished 0-4. 

   "It was a tough day for our squad. The guys were hit with moves they didn't quite know how to defend and they were beaten physically on the mat. We have to get back in the room and improve upon our positioning on our feet, on bottom, and on top. "
