Southeast Valley girls played in the 2A First Round Regional Meet at River Bend Golf Course in Story City on May 10th.

Eight teams competed. Audubon, Colo-Nesco, and West Central Valley didn't bring full teams, so they didn't have a team score. Fifth place was Southeast Valley with a 483. Fourth place was Ogden with a 467. Third place and advancing to the second round regional meet in Carroll was Iowa Falls-Alden with a 434. Second place and advancing to the second round regional meet in Carroll was Kuemper with a 426. First place and advancing to the second round regional meet in Carroll was Roland-Story with a 352.

The top 6 individuals, including ties, were Gabriella Wakefield from Roland-Story in sixth place with a 92. Abby Cook from Roland-Story in fifth place with a 91. Olivia French from Iowa Falls-Alden in fourth place with a 91. Elsa Teifenthaler from Kuemper in third place with a 90. Brinley Carlson from Roland-Story is runner-up with an 85. Makenna Carlson from Roland-Story is medalist with an 84. Those not already advancing with their team will advance as individuals at the second round of regional meet in Carroll on May 15th.

It was a beautiful day to play golf, but it was also pretty wet out there. We were down a golfer due to illness, but the girls pushed through and never gave up. Halle Steck played a good round and finished in 10th place. 

I am very proud of my entire team this season! They worked hard, encouraged each other, improved immensely, and most important of all, they had fun. I’m so sad the season is over and that I’m losing 4 great seniors, but I’m also looking forward to next season!
