Jaguar football team wins 54-0

Well this was a game the coaches had no clue how it was going to turn out as the Jags have been fighting through injuries the whole season and it has not improved over the last few weeks. The Jags were missing 3 starting offensive linemen and one of their RB's going into this game so the coaches asked some young kids to step up and play this week and asked the others to lead the way and that is what they all did and the coaches could not be happier with this outcome.

Saydel had the leader in Class 2A QB with throwing yards and the top WR in class 2A so we knew we had to throw something at them to slow them down. Coach Graves installed a new look for the week and the boys took the entire week to learn it but it paid off as they held Saydel to zero points and forced 4 turnovers.

The Jaguars wasted no time after a Casey Hanson Interception as Logan Jaeschke took the first play of the game for 82 yards to the 4 yard line and Brady Hanson ran it in for the TD and Spencer Peterson made the PAT.

Jags defense forces the second straight punt.

Jags offense got things rolling with some great passing and catching but got held out and turned it over on downs. Before we knew it it was the end of the 1st quarter and the Jags led 7-0

Then the Jags offense started to really get things going for the rest of the game. Cale hit Gauge Jones for a quick 16 yards, followed by a 8 yard Drew Temple run, then Cale hit Logan Jaeschke for 9 and then Cale Vansickle ran in a 19 yard TD.

On the kickoff Saydel fumbled and Clay Lambert recovered the fumble and got the ball right back.

The next drive was the Cale Vansickle drive. He ran the ball 5 times for 35 yards and scored his 2nd straight TD and Spencer Peterson made the PAT and just like that the Jags were ahead 20-0

Saydel tried to get things going but Logan Jaeschke got an INT and gave the Jag the ball back but the Jags were not able to get things going so had to punt.

Jags defense kept things rolling and Preston Kennedy was sacking the QB and forced a fumble on the 1 yard line and Joe Kauffman recovered the fumble.

1 Play later Drew Temple ran in for a TD and Jags led 26-0 at half.

Jags open up second half with Drew Temple and Cale Vansickle runs and Cale Vansickle ran in his 3rd TD and Spencer Peterson made the PAT

Next drive the Jags Cale hitting Logan Jaeschke for a 16 yard TD and Spencer Peterson made the PAT

Jags forced another punt and got the ball back.  Cale hit Gauge Jones for a quick 8, Bryce Harrison for 7, and then hit Gauge Jones for a 53 TD and Spencer Peterson made the PAT

Following Possession Gauge Jones get an INT and gave the ball back 1 last time.

The younger kids took the field with Coach Aaron Swieter calling the plays and they took it right down the field with passes from Casey Hanson to Bryce Harrison 3 straight times for 45 yards and Bryce Harrison finished the last play with at 7 yard TD reception followed by a Spencer Peterson PAT. Jaguar football team wins 54-0

This was a great game as the Jags to get a win and gain their confidence back. The Jags play Greene County next week at home
